UK!OK! Live!
The first UK!OK! Roadshow happened on Saturday 24th May 2008 and was a huge success!Paynes Bay Beach, in front of The Blue Monkey Bar and Restaurant was the venue and a great night was had by all!

Terry Bent and sidekick (and Programme Director) Ronnie Clarke provided the music from 8pm through to 2am.
The evening was a right old British knees up, the highlight of which had to be Tim Troulan pogo-ing to The Sex Pistols' God save the Queen and Sham 69's Hurry up Harry!
With Ronnie Clarke leading the conga across the beach to Black Lace it was fun, fun, fun!!!
The evening kicked off with some of the best new artists from the U.K. before degenerating into 60's, punk, new romantic and everyones favorite dance tracks, the v.i.p. area in The Blue Monkey and the beach came alive to artists as diverse as Gary Glitter, The Sex Pistols and Lulu!
It was billed as not being Reggae and Soca but we still fitted in Bob Marley, UB40, Eddy Grant, Rihanna and Kimberley Inniss.

But the night was just not about having a good time and $4000 was raised and will be split between two local charities, Give a Child a Chance and The Barbados Sea Turtle Project, many thanks to Lt Col. Tony Troulan (ret) for his stirling job as auctioneer.
It was also great to meet many of the loyal band of regular listeners to the show, members of staff from the British High Commission and even the American Embassy (They heard I was a Springsteen fan!)
More photos from the evening will appear here soon and if you have any photo's please let us have them! We would like to thank Vici and Dave from Select Magazine for the above photo, and look forward to seeing more in the next edition!
To everybody who attended thank you, to all of our sponsors and prize donations, thank you even more, and yes, the good news is Starcom were so impressed with the evening The UK!OK! Roadshow will be returning for part two very soon. Watch this space for details....
